Winter season low to medium risk. Summer season high risk.

No, the road is accessible for any kind of vehicle.

No driving on the beaches is allowed anywhere in Mozambique with any kind of vehicle. If you get caught, a fine is inevitable

The lodge has a parking-permit which will allow you to drive from the campsite to the beach and park your vehicle there. However, this is at your own risk because it is a very sandy road that leads down to the beach.

It is approximately 200 m from the beach.

42 X beds in all in Casa Grandé, the Chalets and the Cottages respectively. 4 X Barraca style Camping sites and 7X Traditional style camping sites: 84 pax.

A la Carte. Buffet for larger groups and special occasions by prior arrangement (breakfast, luch or dinner).

The outside deck-area and bar is more informal, but the dress code for the reception area, restaurant and inside-bar requires that a shirt and shoes be worn, and no swimming attire is allowed.

There is a kitchen-counter with bar stools inside the chalets, and both the chalets and cottages have a table and chairs on the outside veranda. Casa Grandé has a dining room.

It means that the kitchenette is equipped with only the basic crockery, cutlery, pots and pans for the amount of people to be accommodated in the unit. The bigger chalets, as well as Casa Grnadé, each have a stove with an oven. The smaller cottages only have a 2-plate gas-stove. Each unit also has a microwave oven and a fridge/freezer.

Yes, each unit has a braai facility and 500mts refundable deposit for a braai grid is charged.

We recommend that you bring your meat along, as red meat is not always available in Mozambique and especially in our area.

The resort itself only sells fishing licences. However, our staff will assist in advising what kind of bait and where to buy the bait (in Chidenguele) specific fishing spots and all other information that you might need in this regard.

Fresh produce is available in Chidenguele every day between 08H00 - 18H00

Fish : available from local fishermen, but keep in mind that there are many lodges in the area and all the guests want to buy fish, so perhaps it is a good idea to stock up on your way to Sunset Beach in Xai Xai at the market (Xai Xai is approximately 55 km from Sunset).

Bread - Paos (Portuguese bread rolls) : fresh on a daily basis in Chidenguele

Vegetables (What types are available over December?) Rather stock up in Xai Xai (much cheaper also), although you can get fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers, lettuce (very nice varieties), potatoes, cabbage and garlic in the village.

Fruit (What types are available over December?) Mangoes and pineapples in abundance but not much else of the tropical fruit that one would be able to buy in Nelspruit / Komatipoort area during that time of the year. Cashew nuts are sold all along the road between Maputo and the lodge and it’s fairly cheap.
